
I met Alan Lord in 2006 during an interview I did for the documentary MTL Punk. He was a courteous and cultured guy and I was impressed by his collection of William Burroughs books that occupied a whole library! We kept in touch afterwards and, from time to time, he would send me articles, thoughts or comments. He also sent me excerpts from this book which I read with pleasure.
High Friends in Low Places is a testimony to the Montreal underground scene of the 1980s: « This book proves in spades that what we had going on here in the Eighties was a world-class underground art scene rivalling any other in History. »1
